Our annual program unfolds as a long-term, multi-layered cycle built around a chosen theme. The first we will explore is that of Destiny.

It is precisely because it lies at the intersection of our rationality and our spiritual dimension, because it calls upon all facets of the human mind, because it engages with our most primordial representations and questions our modernity, that Destiny emerged as a first theme of choice for the initiators of La Sphère.
This research is intended as a formative exercise. By engaging with the most distant disciplines and traditions, it seeks to contribute to a network of the most diverse expressions—some of them little known. A test of truth for the individual, it is equally so for the making of society.

Resident Researcher, La Sphère

La Sphère is a space of culture where the arts, philosophies, and spiritual traditions of the world converge. Lectures, performances, readings, and exhibitions come together to create intellectual and sensorial moments.
Conceived as a space of culture where different traditions coexist, La Sphère aspires to be a place of universal vocation, weaving resonances across cultures, each bringing its own singular light.
Mindful of contemporary tensions, it seeks to renew the ideal of the Renaissance for our century and for generations to come: through rigorous inquiry, the refusal of prejudice, an all-embracing curiosity, and the gathering of experiences.

…for my part, by contrast, pledging allegiance to no one, I made it my principle to range among all the masters of philosophy, to examine all their pages closely, and to know all their schools. (…) Thus, by confronting many schools and bringing the various philosophies into discussion, I sought that the light of truth — as Plato says in his Letters — might shine with greater brilliance in our souls, like the sun rising from the sea.”
Manifesto of the Renaissance, Oration on the Dignity of Man, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola (1486)
We also support editorial projects that help preserve and transmit cultural heritage, especially through the translation of essential bodies of work from other traditions not yet accessible in the West.
La Sphère is an independently operated cultural initiative with a philanthropic mission, privately funded by the Bonfanti Kaufmann Privatstiftung.
